<p>François-Louis Cailler was born in 1796 and is the founder of the oldest existing chocolate brand in Switzerland. Cailler chocolate was produced entirely in Broc, starting with the roasting of the cocoa beans through to packaging, to ensure consistently high quality. The fresh milk comes directly from farmers in the region. The production of the finest chocolate requires numerous steps, including roasting, breaking, grinding, mixing, rolling, conching, tempering, pouring and packaging, all of which take place at Maison Cailler. Participation in the Nestlé Cocoa Plan is part of Cailler's sustainability strategy.</p> <p>As part of this plan, a total of 12 million cocoa seedlings will be donated by 2020. Cailler also worked closely with UTZ Certified, an organization that promotes socially and environmentally responsible cocoa farming.</p>
