Description

The Heretge red wine from the Priorat region comes from old vines from neighboring villages between La Vilella Alta and Torroja. Fermentation took place in open concrete containers with 30% whole grapes, alternating with pigeage and remontage, and was pressed with the skins after 22 days. It exhibits the typical notes of tree bark, licorice, and graphite for the grape variety, with a certain dusty earthiness and ripe aromas and taste notes. On the palate, it is very balanced and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and a long finish. A wine made from the Carignan grape variety, which matured in over 60-year-old vineyards, between 500 and 800 meters above sea level, on the typical slate slopes of the Priorat region of the Scala Dei winery. A historic winery, which was built in the 12th century by a few monks from the French Provence.
