The 2014 Opus One is an extraordinary wine. Elegant and bright, with lush aromas of fresh red and blue fruits, baking spices, and vanilla, as well as a delicate scent of spring flowers. The initial bouquet is complemented by nuanced notes of sage, rosemary, and black olives. The palate is flooded with juicy flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and cassis. Creamy, fine tannins create a wonderfully round structure. The flavors linger to create a lasting finish with notes of dark chocolate and espresso. Opus One is the result of the collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and the famous Napa Valley winemaker Robert Mondavi.
