Vigna dell'Impero
This Sangiovese was produced from grapes that come from a vineyard planted before the 1st World War in 1935, and the vines have an average age of over 85 years. To achieve the best possible concentration of the grapes, the maceration was carried out particularly gently and for a long time (for about a month). The wine then matured for approx. two years in large barrels and was refined for another year in the bottle. The Sette Ponti winery has been owned by the Moretti Cuseri family since the 50s. It has state-of-the-art technologies and researches at the highest level to constantly improve the quality of the wines and to produce quality wines. The architect Alberto Moretti Cuseri acquired the first 50 hectares of land from the princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina di Cavoia-Aosta. Already in the 18th century, it was considered by Grand Duke Cosimo III of Medici as one of the four most important wine-growing regions in Tuscany. The land covers over 300 hectares, of which 54 hectares are used for wine growing.
