Admiral is a long-lasting quality wine from Burgenland, which owes its name to the butterfly of the same name that is endemic to the estate's vineyards. In the first years of production, this wine was made from Zweigelt, later Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were added, which made it the wine it is today. Its fruit comes from plots that grow on gravelly and muddy soils. After processing, the wine matures for 18 months in new French oak barrels. A red wine that goes well with many dishes, such as grilled beef, lamb or even venison. The Pöckl winery is now in its 4th generation. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Albert Pöckl, who dedicated himself to agriculture after returning from America. Today, the winery is led by his great-grandson René Pöckl. Together with his wife and children Jan and Marie, he takes care of the 40-hectare estate and can celebrate many national and international successes for the wines that bear his name.
