Elena Walch
The Lagrein from Elena Walch is a multi-layered red wine that has been processed traditionally. After the harvest, the grapes were subjected to a 10-day maceration. The whole process took place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. This was followed by malolactic fermentation in large and medium-sized French and Slavonian oak barrels. The further maturation process of the wine continued through storage in wooden barrels. The Elena Walch winery is located in picturesque South Tyrol in Italy. The family business is one of the elite of Italian wine production with international success. The company pursues a clear philosophy and this is dedicated to its terroir. The quality of the wines originates in the vineyard; the special conditions of their soil and climate give them their individual expression. The climatic conditions and the excellent location of the vineyards produce fresh and fruity white wines as well as concentrated and velvety red wines. The wines show character, elegance and great personality – they reflect the most professional winemaking.
