Between M-Budget and Prix Garantie the gap depends on the product. Between a budget line and comparable products in the same store it is large: almost 38% at Migros and 51% at Coop in the Kassensturz basket of November 2025.
For comparison, switching stores: in K-Tipp's 100-item basket (August 2025) Migros came 5.5% above Aldi.

The Availability Problem
In many medium and small stores, 5–6 out of 100 budget products are missing from the shelf (K-Tipp, August 2025). That forces you to buy the noticeably pricier standard version.

Is Budget Quality Worse?
No. Kassensturz (November 2025): budget products aren't less healthy than standard products. Differences are in ingredient sourcing (imports vs Swiss), packaging, and sometimes recipes (M-Budget cotto ham is reformed, Prix Garantie is whole ham). On taste and nutrition, differences are minimal for most products.
