This majestic red wine was produced with Petit Verdot grapes from the Donna Olimpia winery in Bolgheri, whose vines are planted on sandy and muddy soils on the coastal strip near the Tyrrhenian Sea. To get the most out of the fully ripe grapes, the harvest takes place in mid-September. The carefully selected fruits are then brought to the cellar and vinified. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel wine containers. Immediately after the fermentation process, malolactic fermentation takes place before the wine is aged for 24 months in 50% old and 50% new French oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle. The winery is named after Guido Folonari's wife. On the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary, he gave the estate the name Olimpia. Guido Folonari is a descendant of the well-known Folonari winemaking family and is a great expert in wine production. Thanks to his extraordinary skills, he creates excellent wines that amaze even the most demanding wine connoisseurs and win their hearts.
