Mineral Water Deals in Switzerland: When Evian, Valser and Eptinger Get Discounted

Mineral water deals in Switzerland run on a fixed weekly rhythm. Migros, Coop and Denner all start their weekly Aktionen on Thursday now — Coop since January 2025, Migros and Denner since 5 February 2026. Aldi Suisse and Lidl Schweiz publish new offers twice a week, on Monday and on Thursday. What gets discounted is almost always the multipack — the six-pack of 1.5-litre PET bottles — rather than the single bottle. Which brand is on offer changes every week, so this guide explains the mechanics and leaves the current prices to the live comparison in Rappn.

When are mineral water deals released in Switzerland?

On two weekdays. Thursday is now the shared start for Migros, Coop and Denner, but not since the same date. Coop went first: per the press release picked up by foodaktuell.ch on 21 January 2025, the chain moved its price promotions from Tuesday to Thursday "from this week", running through to Wednesday, and pulled the Weekend-Hits forward from Friday to Thursday, still running to Sunday. Migros and Denner switched to the same Thursday-to-Wednesday cycle on 5 February 2026. Aldi Suisse and Lidl Schweiz run two rounds a week, on Monday and Thursday — aldi-suisse.ch sorts its promotions into "from Monday" and "from Thursday", and at Lidl the LIDL AKTUELL leaflet runs Thursday to Wednesday with a second wave from Monday (lidl.ch).

For water that has a practical consequence: on Thursday morning the whole field moves at once. Shopping on Wednesday means buying at the prices of the week that is ending. And if you miss one chain's deal, the discounters give you a second window on Monday within the same week.

Aligro and Otto's are in the Rappn comparison too. We found no reliable public source on their drinks promotion rhythm, so the table states none.

Evian deals: which chains can actually run them?

Evian is the most searched water brand in Swiss deal queries, and the answer starts with the assortment: Evian is listed in the online shops of Migros, Coop and Denner (migros.ch, coop.ch, denner.ch, checked August 2026). At Aldi Suisse and Lidl Schweiz we did not find the brand in the water range, which is dominated by own labels.

That gives you a useful rule: an Evian deal can realistically only appear at the three chains that stock Evian at all. Looking for Evian on a Thursday therefore means watching three flyers — or one search that covers all three. Because Evian is imported, it belongs to the share of the market that in 2025 accounted for 474.3 million of a total 993.6 million litres, per the SMS association: just under half of Swiss mineral water consumption.

Valser water deals: where Valser sits on the shelf

Valser is listed at all three big full-range chains: Valser Classic on migros.ch, Valser products on coop.ch and Valser Mineralwasser prickelnd on denner.ch (checked August 2026). The pattern is the same as for Evian: three possible sources of a deal, all three starting on Thursday.

The difference from Evian is origin, not promotional mechanics. For deal-hunting what matters is that Valser is a branded water and is therefore discounted in the same shelf category: as a six-pack, or as a combination of several six-packs, never as a single bottle.

Eptinger deals at Aldi: why there in particular?

"Eptinger Aktion Aldi" is one of the most frequent water searches in Switzerland, and it has a concrete reason: Eptinger is one of the few branded waters Aldi Suisse stocks at all. On aldi-suisse.ch, Eptinger Mineralwasser is listed as a six-pack of 1.5-litre bottles, and the brand appears in promotion rounds filed under "from Thursday". Coop additionally lists Eptinger as 6 × 150 cl, and Denner carries Eptinger still and sparkling (coop.ch, denner.ch).

For you that makes Eptinger the brand where comparing a discounter against a full-range chain genuinely works, because the same product exists in both channels. Those overlaps are the only place a brand-level comparison is clean — with own labels you are necessarily comparing different products.

Aproz and Henniez: the Swiss line

Aproz is not a bought-in brand; it belongs to Migros Industrie. Per migrosindustrie.ch, Aproz Sources Minérales SA has been bottling water from the Rhone valley in Valais since 1947, fills over 170 million litres a year, and runs five filling lines with a capacity of up to 100,000 bottles per hour. You will therefore find Aproz at Migros, not at Coop or Denner.

Henniez, by contrast, is a classic branded water listed at Migros and Coop, still and sparkling (migros.ch, coop.ch, August 2026). San Pellegrino is likewise listed at Migros and Coop and sits in a different price bracket from the standard Swiss waters: it sells mostly in smaller formats, which structurally pushes the per-litre price up.

Water deals this week: why the price per litre decides

Water is the category where the shelf price misleads most, because pack formats vary so much: 6 × 1.5 litres, 6 × 1 litre, 6 × 75 cl, 24 × 50 cl. A cheaper pack can simply hold less water. That is why federal rules require a unit price for measurable goods: for measurable goods whose retail price depends on the quantity sold, the base price per litre, kilogram, metre and so on must be shown (kmu.admin.ch, "Kennzeichnung der Preise"). The francs-per-litre figure is already on the shelf label — just printed smaller than the deal price.

The second reflex is to read crossed-out prices properly. Since 1 January 2025, a comparison price may be shown next to the price actually payable only if the goods were offered at that price for at least 30 days beforehand (Art. 16 para. 1 PBV, via kmu.admin.ch). A "was" price is therefore not an invented number but a price that really existed — while saying nothing about what the same volume of water costs this week at another chain.

Is there a deposit on PET bottles in Switzerland?

No. There is no deposit on PET drinks bottles in Switzerland; collection is financed through the advance recycling fee levied by PET-Recycling Schweiz and included in the sale price. According to the BAFU, consumers return over 80 percent of the PET drinks bottles put into circulation; the Beverage Packaging Ordinance requires a rate of at least 75 percent, failing which the federal government could introduce a deposit. For deal arithmetic that means one thing: on a discounted six-pack there is no amount you get back later. The deal price is the final price, unlike some reusable glass containers that do carry a deposit.

Which chain has the cheapest water this week? It depends

It depends on the brand, the pack format and your canton. In the same week one chain can lead on the Evian six-pack and trail on still own-brand water, and assortments differ by region.
