Evian Price in Switzerland: What the Litre Really Costs

Evian is a branded mineral water imported from France, and in a price comparison the number that actually decides is rarely the one on the big sticker: it is the price per litre. In the promotion week of 5 to 11 February 2026, the same 6 × 1.5 litre pack cost between CHF 3.29 and CHF 4.42 depending on the chain and the condition attached, so roughly CHF 0.37 to CHF 0.49 per litre, while the twelve-pack of 50 cl bottles at Denner worked out at about CHF 1.16 per litre (Rappn reading taken in the app, 8 February 2026). Same brand, same week, three times the price per litre: the difference was the pack format and the condition, not the water.

Where do you find Evian in Switzerland, and when does the price change?

The Swiss promotion calendar is fixed, which makes the search easier. Migros, Coop and Denner start their weekly Aktionen on Thursday: Coop since the week of 21 January 2025, Migros and Denner since 5 February 2026. Aldi Suisse and Lidl Schweiz publish two rounds a week, on Monday and on Thursday. For anyone hunting an Evian deal that means the whole field moves at once on Thursday morning, and the discounters reopen a window on Monday.

In the week of 5 to 11 February 2026 Evian was on promotion at Lidl Schweiz, Coop, Migros and Denner simultaneously, each with a different mechanic (Rappn reading, 8 February 2026). "Everyone has Evian on offer" is true in weeks like that, but it says nothing about where the litre actually costs least. Whether Evian is discounted this week can only be answered live, not in a guide.

Evian price per litre: the documented promotion week

We documented one full Evian week instead of describing a typical one. The figures below come from the promotion week of 5 to 11 February 2026 and were recorded in the app on 8 February 2026. They are not current prices but a yardstick: they show how far the same branded item can spread in a single week.

Two things stand out. First, the two lowest per-litre prices of that week were practically identical, CHF 3.29 and CHF 3.30 for the same nine litres, with very different conditions behind them. Second, the highest per-litre price was not a worse offer but a different product. Twelve 50 cl bottles are water to carry around, not water for the cupboard, and that portability structurally costs more per litre.

Prices change every Thursday, and Rappn shows the current ones. What this table gives you is the yardstick: once you know an Evian six-pack has been seen at about CHF 0.37 per litre, you can read a sticker at CHF 0.60 per litre for what it is.

Where does Evian come from, and which formats exist?

Evian is a mineral water imported from France. The source sits in Évian-les-Bains on the southern shore of Lake Geneva. According to Danone, the group behind the brand, evian owes its composition to a fifteen-year journey through the French Alps: starting as snow or rain, the water travels slowly through glacial rock that mineralises it. Danone also states that more than 300 water tests are performed each day, and puts the share of recycled plastic across the bottle range at 85 percent, caps and labels excluded (evian brand page, retrieved September 2026).

For price comparison, the format spread is what matters. Danone lists 33 cl, 50 cl, 75 cl, 1 litre and 1.5 litre across the ranges, plus glass bottles and sparkling versions. On Swiss shelves you will mostly meet the six-pack of 1.5 litre PET bottles and the small formats for the day. Because Evian is imported, it belongs to the share of the market that in 2025 accounted for 474.3 million of a total 993.6 million litres, per the SMS association. The other half, 519.8 million litres, was bottled in Switzerland.

"Min. 2", Megastore, online only: the condition is part of the price

In the documented February week the most attractive per-litre price at Coop depended on three conditions at once: at least two packs, and only in a Megastore or on Coop Online. Two packs are 18 litres, which is about 18 kilograms to carry, store and pay for. At Migros in the same week the minimum was likewise two packs, so again 18 litres and CHF 8.84 at the till instead of CHF 4.42. At Lidl that week there was no such threshold.

The arithmetic rule that follows is a sober one: a minimum quantity is not small print, it is a second price. If you drink 18 litres of water within a sensible period and have the space, the condition costs you nothing. If not, the apparently lowest per-litre price is only low on paper. And a channel restriction, "online only" or "Megastore only", changes the question from how much the litre costs to how much the detour costs you. Is that a real Evian deal? Unit price and the 30-day rule

Two rules of Swiss federal law help you judge. First the base price: for measurable goods whose retail price depends on the quantity sold, the price per litre, kilogram or metre must be shown (kmu.admin.ch, "Kennzeichnung der Preise"). The francs-per-litre figure is therefore on the shelf label of every Evian pack, just printed smaller than the deal price. It is the only value that lets you compare a six-pack of 1.5 litre bottles with a twelve-pack of 50 cl bottles at all.

Second, the crossed-out price: since 1 January 2025, a comparison price may appear next to the price actually payable only if the goods were offered at that price for at least 30 days beforehand (Art. 16 PBV, via kmu.admin.ch). A "was" price is therefore not an invented number. It answers only what the same chain charged before, not what the same nine litres of Evian cost this week at a different chain. That is the difference between a self-comparison and a price comparison.

Evian, Swiss mineral waters and tap water per litre

Placing a branded water needs the right scale. The Swiss Gas and Water Industry Association (SVGW) puts the average water price at CHF 2.00 per 1'000 litres, roughly 0.2 centimes per litre, and sets against it a range of 25 centimes to 9 francs per litre for mineral water. The February promotion price therefore sat at the bottom of that range while still being about 185 to 245 times the price of tap water.

This table is a scale, not a recommendation. It says nothing about taste, mineral content or habit, and it replaces no decision: if you drink Evian, you drink Evian. Which chain has the lowest Evian price per litre this week? It depends

It depends on the week, the pack format, the condition and your canton. In the documented February week two chains were level on the nine-litre pack, a third sat about twelve centimes per litre above them, and the fourth was selling a different product. In another week the order can look completely different, which is exactly why there is no ranking for today here: every figure would be wrong by the following Thursday.
