What Things Cost

What does a litre of milk cost, or a kilo of minced meat, or enough detergent for three months? This group collects the product price guides: single categories, their usual price ranges, the distance between own brand and branded article, and how to recognise a good price at all.

Product prices move with the promotions, so they move weekly. A guide therefore records a dated, sourced range instead of one single price on one single day. The basis is seven Swiss chains, the figures apply to all 26 cantons, and the guides exist in four languages.

How to use them: the guide gives you the range and the comparison unit, the app shows this week’s price and breaks it down per kilo, litre or piece, so different pack sizes become comparable again. Free, no account needed. As of September 2026.
