Banfi
This red wine was obtained from Sangiovese grapes that grow in the estate's own vineyards. The plots for this were identified in 1980 after a zoning study as the most suitable. The soils are located on reddish continental and clayey sediments with a significant presence of stones and pebbles. The ideal place for growing Sangiovese. After the harvest, the grapes came to the cellar, where they were first processed and fermented at a controlled temperature of 25-30°C in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matured for two years in French barriques. The Banfi winery was founded in 1978 by the two brothers John and Harry Mariani. From the beginning, it was clear to both of them that they wanted to produce wines of outstanding quality, and they succeeded with the help of oenologist Ezio Rivella, who belongs to Italy's elite in viticulture. The family winery also places a very high value on sustainability in all production processes.
