ALDI now: how does discounter home delivery work in Switzerland?

ALDI now is Aldi Suisse own online delivery service: groceries are brought to your door for a fee, with no in-store pickup option. The minimum order is CHF 50, delivery starts at CHF 11.90 and falls on bigger baskets. Coverage is limited to selected postal codes around Zurich (as of June 2026, per aldi-now.ch). Lidl Switzerland does not deliver fresh groceries at all.

ALDI now grocery home delivery in Switzerland: minimum order and delivery fees explained

As of June 2026. All figures per aldi-now.ch and aldi-suisse.ch, checked in June 2026. Prices and delivery areas change, so confirm current terms in the shop before ordering.

Rappn is the only neutral grocery price-comparison app in Switzerland, with no commercial agreement with any retailer.

Discounters and home delivery long looked like a contradiction: low prices depend on lean operations, and a delivery service adds cost. Aldi Suisse tried it anyway, launching its own online delivery service, ALDI now, in December 2021 (per aldi-suisse.ch). Lidl Switzerland, by contrast, still does not deliver fresh groceries to your home. This guide explains how ALDI now works, what it costs, and where it is actually available.

How does ALDI now work and what does delivery cost?

ALDI now is a home-delivery-only service: you order online at aldi-now.ch, pick a time slot, and get your shopping brought to your home. There is no in-store pickup (no click and collect) as of June 2026, per aldi-now.ch. Only a reduced selection of the permanent range is available online, not everything you would find in store. The minimum order is CHF 50. Payment is by credit card (Visa, Mastercard), TWINT, or PostFinance; alcohol and tobacco require automated age verification (18+).

ItemTerms per aldi-now.ch (June 2026)
Minimum order valueCHF 50.00
Delivery fee from CHF 50CHF 11.90
Delivery fee from CHF 80CHF 9.90
Delivery fee from CHF 100CHF 6.90
Transport material (flat fee)CHF 1.50
Picking fee2.5% of order value
Delivery to apartment doorCHF 5.00 surcharge (standard: ground floor)
Same-day deliveryCHF 2.00 surcharge (order by 10:00, delivered from 17:00)
Time windows10:30 to 12:30 or 17:00 to 19:00 (area-dependent)
Pre-orderup to 14 days in advance

One thing to watch: the headline delivery fee is not the whole surcharge. On top of it come a CHF 1.50 transport-material flat fee and a picking fee of 2.5% of the order value (per aldi-now.ch). If you want the shopping carried to your apartment door rather than left on the ground floor, that is another CHF 5.00. On a CHF 50 basket these add up noticeably, which is why delivery makes more sense in price terms on larger orders: from CHF 100 the delivery fee drops to CHF 6.90.

If you want to know whether delivery is worth it versus shopping in store, compare the product prices first. In Rappn you can see the best grocery deals this week across all seven chains, neutrally and for free.

Where does ALDI now deliver, and does Lidl deliver in Switzerland?

ALDI now delivery area is limited. It launched in 2021 covering 346 postal-code areas, then shrank to roughly 225 in November 2023 after a change of courier service (per foodaktuell.ch). Coverage centres on Zurich and the nearer surrounding area. According to the delivery-area PDF on aldi-now.ch, only Zurich and its surroundings are currently served, and every covered postal code falls in the 8xxx range in the canton of Zurich. To check whether your specific address is included, use the postal-code checker on aldi-now.ch or the delivery-area PDF linked there.

Lidl Switzerland does not offer a home-delivery service for fresh groceries. The online shop at lidl.ch sells non-food items; there is no supermarket delivery service like ALDI now (per lidl.ch, June 2026). For a classic weekly shop, ALDI now and the bricks-and-mortar discounters are the options among the German chains. If you want home delivery with a large range, the full-range retailers are the better fit: a comparison of Coop@home and Migros Online shows how those differ.

Discounter prices are often cheaper in store than with a delivery surcharge anyway. So compare the current Aldi deals this week and Lidl deals this week before you opt for delivery.
