This fruity wine has a full body and a particular, distinctive acidity and was born from the friendship between the owners of the Avignonesi and Capannelle wineries during a dinner in Tuscany in the late eighties. They began to compare their wines and created a legendary blend. The 50&50 contains 50% Merlot grapes from Avignonesi and 50% Sangiovese from Capannelle. The first vintage was produced for the market in 1988. The grapes were all hand-picked from the best plots. The alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature for about 20-25 days. A wonderful red wine that proves that Tuscany is one of the best wine regions in the world.
