Machoman
The wine presents itself as mature, elegant, and complex, with balsamic and slightly menthol notes that are harmoniously accompanied by red fruit aromas. Made from the strong-character Monastrell grape, which thrives in the mountains south of Paraje de La Raja, the Machoman impressively reflects its terroir. The highly calcareous soils and the extremely dry climate challenge the vines and ensure low yields, but at the same time produce exceptionally concentrated and high-quality grapes. The grapes for the Machoman come from seven carefully selected plots with vines aged between 20 and 45 years. The harvest was done by hand to select only the best grape material. This was followed by temperature-controlled fermentation at 26 °C in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matured for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
