Printed in the flyer, missing from the shelf: what to do

This is the most common flyer frustration: the offer is printed, but the shelf in your store is empty. The reason comes further down this guide: assortment and quantity are decided store by store, and every deal only runs while supplies last. The promo week itself is largely national, Thursday to Wednesday at Migros, Coop, Denner and Lidl. Why you do not need to search "Denner Ilanz" or "Coop Interlaken" one by one

Searching "Denner deals this week" or "Migros promotion" together with your town really asks one simple question: what is cheap near me this week? The good news: the big Swiss chains steer their weekly promotions largely at national level. A Denner weekly deal is the same in Ilanz as in Geneva, and Coop's promo week follows the same calendar in Interlaken as in Zurich.

Since February 2026, Thursday has been Switzerland's key promo day: Coop moved in January 2025, and Migros and Denner followed on 5 February 2026 (source: Migros and Denner press releases). Wherever you live, the new flyer at these chains runs from Thursday to the following Wednesday.

Migros: ten cooperatives, one largely national promo programme

Migros is not a single company but a federation of ten regional cooperatives, from Geneva through Aare and Lucerne to Ticino (source: corporate.migros.ch). Each cooperative used to decide largely on its own promotions, which added up to roughly 4,000 promotions per year across the country. Central steering has cut that to around 400 nationally uniform promotions (source: SonntagsBlick).

For you this means the big Migros weekly deals are practically the same everywhere today. Differences remain in the assortment, since not every store carries every item, and in regional products: Migros regional lines are only sold in their region of origin (source: Migros). A promo item can therefore simply not be listed in your store, or already be sold out.

Coop, the discounters, Aligro and Otto's: how regional are the offers?

Coop is organised into four sales regions: Suisse Romande, Bern, Nordwestschweiz-Zentralschweiz-Zürich and Ostschweiz-Ticino (source: Coop). The promo week follows one national calendar, but individual offers and assortments can differ by region. That is why flyer portals often list Coop offers per town, such as "Coop Interlaken" or "Coop Chur".

Aldi Suisse and Lidl work with national weekly flyers that in principle apply in every store, always while supplies last. Denner runs its weekly deals nationwide and operates the densest discounter network in the country with 872 locations (per denner.ch). Aligro, the cash-and-carry chain rooted in French-speaking Switzerland, operates 14 markets across western and German-speaking Switzerland and publishes around 2,000 deals per week, some of which differ regionally (per aligro.ch). Otto's, finally, starts its weekly hits on Tuesday and sells them with no fixed end date, while supplies last, so what is left really does depend on the individual store (per ottos.ch).

Aligro actually comes from here: the family business behind the chain is based in Chavannes-près-Renens and runs markets in Geneva, Sion and Matran among others (per aligro.ch). The Migros cooperatives Geneva, Vaud, Neuchâtel-Fribourg and Valais cover the region, and Coop manages it as its own Suisse Romande sales region.

Ticino

In Ticino you will find Migros (the Migros Ticino cooperative), Coop, Denner, Aldi Suisse, Lidl and Otto's. Aligro currently has no market there; the closest locations are in German-speaking and western Switzerland (per aligro.ch). Promotions at the other chains follow the same national weekly cycles in Ticino as in the rest of the country.
