Which supermarket deals are valid today in Switzerland?
Every chain runs its own rhythm, which is why "what is valid today" has no single-weekday answer. Here is when new offers start at the 7 chains Rappn covers, and how long they run:

The practical point: a deal that was in yesterday's flyer may already have expired today, and a weekend special only runs Thursday to Sunday. If you only read the paper flyer, you never quite know what is still valid right now.
Since February 2026, almost every big chain switches on Thursday
For years, Tuesday was the classic promotion start in Switzerland. That has changed. Coop moved its promotion week to Thursday through Wednesday back in January 2025 (source: Coop press release, foodaktuell.ch). Migros and Denner followed on 5 February 2026: both now start their weekly deals on Thursday and let them run until Wednesday of the following week (source: Migros and Denner press releases, February 2026).
The reasoning is the same at both retailers: the biggest shopping trips increasingly happen on weekends, so the fresh deals should be live exactly then. Denner also extended its Weekend Knaller from two to four days, now Thursday to Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday (source: Denner press release). The Migros magazine carrying the Migros and Denner weekly offers is now delivered on Wednesday instead of Monday.
The practical consequence: any "deals from Tuesday" note still floating around on older flyer sites is outdated for Migros, Coop and Denner. Thursday is now by far the most important deal day in Switzerland, which is worth knowing if you moved here from a country with weekend-flyer cycles.
How "today" reads depending on the weekday
- Monday: Aldi Suisse launches its first offer round of the week, Aligro starts a new promotion week, and Coop activates its Week-start Hits. The Thursday deals at Migros, Coop, Denner and Lidl keep running in parallel.
- Tuesday and Wednesday: the quietest days. Wednesday is the last validity day of the promotion week at Migros, Coop, Denner and Lidl, so it is your last chance on expiring offers.
- Thursday: the big switch day. Migros, Coop, Denner and Lidl start a new promotion week, Aldi Suisse adds its second round, and the weekend specials (Thursday to Sunday) begin.
- Friday to Sunday: weekend specials are live, including Lidl's Super Weekend from Friday to Sunday (per lidl.ch). Aligro promotions end on Saturday. On Sunday most stores are closed, so it is a good day to plan Monday's shop.
Otto's ticks differently: its weekly hits are refreshed every week and are valid from publication while stocks last (per ottos.ch). A bargain can be there today and sold out tomorrow, with no official end date at all.
