Description

Can Blau is a red wine cuvée whose grapes are obtained from old vines and are between 25 and 40 years old. Each grape variety is planted separately and has its own characteristics. This is because every vineyard has different soil conditions. The Carinena grapes grow in the Darmós and Masroig area on clayey soils, the Syrah grapes on calcareous soils and the Garnacha in the area of Cornudella de Montsant on slate soils. After the harvest, the grapes were transported to the wine cellar. The maceration in stainless steel tanks lasted about 20 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C. The malolactic fermentation and the subsequent refinement for 12 months in French barriques.
