Luzón
"Por Ti" translates to "for you". This excellent red wine from Bodegas Luzón was created for exactly this reason - for you! Its selected grapes come from the winery's own vineyards, which grow at an altitude of approx. 600 m. The production per vine was 1.5 to max. 2 kg and was very limited. The grapes were harvested by hand and transported to the cellar with great care in 15 kg crates. After arriving in the wine cellar, the crates were cooled to 10-12°C and the grapes were selected on the sorting table. The fermentation process and maceration at a controlled temperature of max. 28°C lasted 15 to 20 days depending on the variety. Afterwards, the wine was transferred into 60% French and 40% American barriques and stored there for 18 months. The Luzón winery is one of the historical wineries in the region and has been producing wines since the late 19th century. To get to its origin, one has to go back to the year 1841, when Don José de Molina, a commander of the royal armies, decided to return to his homeland from the Spanish colony of Manila. There he settled down and named his lands Finca Luzón, which he bequeathed to his daughter Ana Josefa. Bodegas Luzón is one of the oldest wineries in the Jumilla region and has been managed by women for a very long period since its beginnings.
