Denner Beer: Which Deals Are On and What Does a Litre Cost?

Denner beer promotions this week: how the cycle runs

Denner's weekly promotions run from Thursday to Wednesday: the one running on 28 October 2026 started on Thursday 22 October and ends on Wednesday 28 October (denner.ch). Migros moved the start of its promotions from Tuesday to Thursday from 5 February 2026 and, in the same media release of 26 January 2026, writes that Denner is also moving the start of its promotion week to Thursday (corporate.migros.ch). Alongside the weekly promotion, denner.ch publishes time-limited blocks. The next weekend block ("Wochenend-Knaller" in German, "Sensations du week-end" in French) runs from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 and covers all champagnes and sparkling wines, not beer (denner.ch, 28 October 2026). If a block does cover beer, read its text before buying a big case: the conditions are printed there, for example "Nicht mit anderen Gutscheinen, Bons und Sonderrabatten kumulierbar" (not combinable with other vouchers, coupons and special discounts).

Denner own-label beer: who actually brews it?

On the product page of Denner Lagerbier hell IP-SUISSE (50 cl), denner.ch names no brewery (28 October 2026). One answer comes from a K-Tipp investigation reported by 20 Minuten on 5 October 2024: the "Denner Lagerbier hell" is said to be brewed by the Ramseier brewery in Hochdorf, the same brewery to which the investigation attributes the entry-level lagers of five other retailers. The attribution rests on internal company documents and statements by industry insiders. The report is more than two years old and does not name the IP-SUISSE label, so we cannot rule out that the recipe or the supplier has changed. If you want to know today's producer, check the label.

That the same brewery fills the entry-level beer of several chains does not mean the beers are the same or cost the same: according to Ramseier, retailers can ask for changes to the recipes (20 Minuten, 5 October 2024).

Denner beer prices versus Coop, Migros, Aldi and Lidl

One structural point first: Migros supermarkets sell no alcoholic beer at all. The ban covers the supermarkets, restaurants and take-aways of the ten regional Migros cooperatives; Denner belongs to the Migros group but sells alcoholic beer, as the deals above show. The ban has existed since 1928 and has been in the statutes of the regional cooperatives since 1983, except in Geneva (Migros media release of 21 March 2022). In June 2022 the members of all ten cooperatives decided to keep it: a two-thirds majority would have been needed to change it, more than 630,000 members took part (turnout 29%), and the No vote ranged from 55.3% in Migros Ticino to 80.3% in Migros Zurich (release of 16 June 2022). The Migros Annual Report 2025 lists Denner among the trading companies of its Food Retail business area. Alcohol-free beer is sold under the NON brand (release of 18 March 2026).

On coop.ch on 27 October 2026, Corona Extra 10 × 33 cl cost CHF 15.50 (CHF 4.70 per litre), Moretti 10 × 33 cl CHF 14.70 (CHF 4.45) and Feldschlösschen Original 10 × 33 cl CHF 12.50 (CHF 3.79), with discounts if you buy 3 or 4 packs; on promotion were the 24 × 50 cl cases of Feldschlösschen Original at CHF 27.60 (CHF 2.30 per litre) and Moretti at CHF 31.50 (CHF 2.63), per-litre prices as shown by Coop. For Aldi Suisse we quote no figures: the site cannot be read automatically.

Is Denner the cheapest for beer?

Honest answer: it depends on the week and on the beer, and the evidence points both ways.

Here is how it looked on 28 October 2026. On the brands both Denner and Lidl carried, the Denner promotion was below Lidl's shelf price per litre: Corona CHF 2.78 against CHF 5.30, Moretti CHF 2.52 against CHF 4.45, Feldschlösschen Original CHF 2.27 against CHF 3.78. But Coop also had cases on promotion: Feldschlösschen Original 24 × 50 cl at CHF 2.30 per litre, below the CHF 2.66 of the 15 × 50 cl on promotion at Denner. On entry-level lager it was the other way round: Lidl showed CHF 1.33 per litre for its Swiss lager in 6 × 50 cl and CHF 1.18 for a 50 cl lager, while Denner asked CHF 2.00 for its own label and CHF 1.66 for the Paulaner Münchner Hell on promotion. For the whole basket there is an RTS test, which is not about beer and cannot be transferred to it: the programme "À bon entendeur" bought 30 basic foods on the same day at five chains, each time the product at the lowest shelf price. In the article of 17 April 2024 the totals were CHF 162.05 at Lidl, CHF 166.59 at Aldi, CHF 167.82 at Coop, CHF 170.37 at Migros and CHF 181.67 at Denner; RTS explains Denner's gap by the absence of entry-level minced steaks on the buying day; Denner replies that it stocks them too.

Hence the honest line: which chain has your beer on offer this week, and at what price per litre, depends on the brand, the pack size and the promotion window: see it at the top of this page or in Rappn instead of guessing. Rappn collects the deals of seven chains (Migros, Coop, Aldi Suisse, Lidl, Denner, Aligro, Otto's), updated daily, and shows the unit price per litre, so that 24 × 33 cl and 6 × 50 cl become comparable at all.

Quöllfrisch, Corona and Feldschlösschen at Denner

Quöllfrisch. Two variants were on promotion, both in 6 × 50 cl at CHF 8.20 (CHF 2.73 per litre): the hell instead of CHF 10.95 and the naturtrüb (unfiltered) instead of CHF 11.30. Per denner.ch, the hell is available only in German- and Italian-speaking Switzerland, the naturtrüb only in German-speaking Switzerland (denner.ch, 28 October 2026). The preview for 29 October to 4 November contains no Quöllfrisch; to learn when it returns to promotion, follow it in Rappn: the app alerts you as soon as it goes on offer.

Corona and Moretti. Corona Extra was on promotion in 18 × 33 cl at CHF 16.50 instead of CHF 27.90 (CHF 2.78 per litre) and Birra Moretti in 24 × 33 cl at CHF 19.95 instead of CHF 35.85 (CHF 2.52 per litre), both without a regional note (denner.ch, 28 October 2026). As a reference point from a source we could reach: sortiment.lidl.ch lists Corona Extra in 6 × 33 cl at CHF 10.49 and displays CHF 0.53 per 100 ml, or CHF 5.30 per litre converted (28 October 2026). From 29 October the alcohol-free Moretti Zero is on promotion.

Feldschlösschen. The Original had two pack sizes on promotion: 24 × 33 cl at CHF 17.95 (CHF 2.27 per litre) and 15 × 50 cl at CHF 19.95 (CHF 2.66 per litre). From 29 October to 4 November it is the turn of the Braufrisch, in 24 × 33 cl at CHF 18.60 and in 24 × 50 cl at CHF 28.60, and of the Alkoholfrei in 24 × 33 cl at CHF 17.95 (denner.ch, 28 October 2026).

Cardinal and Valaisanne. Searching denner.ch for "Cardinal" and for "Valaisanne" returned no result on 28 October 2026.

Alcohol-free beer at Denner

None of the 9 beers on promotion until 28 October carries the "Alkoholfrei" (alcohol-free) label. From 29 October there are two: Feldschlösschen Bier Alkoholfrei (24 × 33 cl, CHF 17.95) and Birra Moretti Zero (6 × 50 cl, CHF 9.20) (denner.ch, 28 October 2026). Alcohol-free beer is growing: according to the Swiss Brewers Association, consumption of alcohol-free beer rose by almost 14% in calendar year 2025 compared with the year before (bier.swiss, read 28 October 2026). Migros, which sells no alcoholic beer, writes that its alcohol-free NON beer is now the second best-selling beer in its supermarkets (release of 18 March 2026).

Buying beer abroad: price levels and duty-free allowance

Eurostat has no line for beer alone. For alcoholic beverages as a whole, the 2025 price level index (EU = 100) is 154.0 in Switzerland, 85.9 in Germany, 100.9 in France and 81.9 in Italy (Eurostat, prc_ppp_ind_1, dataset of 9 July 2026). That puts Germany about 44% below Switzerland, France about 34% and Italy about 47% (our calculation: 1 minus the country value divided by 154.0). These are national averages of all alcoholic beverages, not the price of a case of beer in a border town.

If you buy beer abroad and bring it into Switzerland: for alcoholic beverages up to 18% vol. the duty-free allowance is 5 litres per person per day, with customs duty of CHF 2 per litre on the excess; the allowances are only granted to people aged at least 17 (BAZG, allowances page, read 28 October 2026). If the total value of the goods you carry exceeds CHF 150, VAT is due in any case. A case of 24 × 33 cl, like the ones on promotion at Denner, holds 7.92 litres: one person alone is over 5 litres, two people aged 17 or over are not. What else to know before you buy beer at Denner

Age limits: the Federal Office of Public Health states that the law prohibits selling beer and wine to people under 16 and spirits to people under 18; in canton Ticino all alcoholic drinks are sold only from age 18 (BAG, published 13 March 2025). The cantons can set the age limit themselves. This applies to promotional purchases too. More: buying alcohol in Swiss supermarkets.

Store network: at the end of 2025 Denner had 872 stores, of which 578 in German-speaking Switzerland, 250 in French-speaking Switzerland and 44 in Ticino; 612 are Denner Discount stores and 260 Denner partner businesses (Denner annual report 2025, as of 31 December 2025). Not every promotion applies everywhere: according to Denner, its stores and its partner shops carry all promotions, Denner Express the most important promotions and seasonal offers, and Denner Bibite selected promotions (denner.ch, About us). If you are after a specific beer, check first that your store carries it: the beer promotion you want is not automatically the one around the corner.
